In the small town of Komijan, set among the rolling wheat fields and orchards of Markazi province in central Iran, the Mosque of the Fourteen Infallibles, together with the Bab al Hawa'ij Cultural Centre, serves a community that cherishes the memory of the household of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family. The phrase Chahardah Ma'sum, the fourteen infallibles, refers to the Prophet himself, his daughter Fatima al Zahra, and the twelve imams of the family of the Prophet, peace be upon them all. Bab al Hawa'ij, the door of needs, is a beloved honorific of the seventh imam, Musa ibn Ja'far al Kazim, peace be upon him, invoked by believers seeking intercession in moments of hardship.

Komijan lies within the historic region of ancient Media, and its residents trace a long tradition of agricultural life along the Qara Chay river. The town's mosques often serve the dual role of prayer hall and husayniyya, hosting the recitations and majalis of Muharram alongside daily worship. This centre combines the two functions within a single modern complex.

The building follows contemporary central Iranian conventions. A rectangular prayer hall is finished in pale cream plaster and faced with turquoise tilework in calligraphic bands around the entrance portal. A central dome in soft blue rises above the hall, and a small minaret in brick carries the loudspeakers for the call to prayer. A shaded courtyard welcomes worshippers through a tiled portal bearing verses of Surah al Ahzab in Thuluth calligraphy.

Inside, the hall is soft and reverent. Green Persian carpets run in long rows, the mihrab is set in a niche decorated with mosaic faience in eight pointed stars, and a wooden mimbar of walnut stands beside it. A separate husayniyya area carries hanging alams and black banners during the months of Muharram and Safar, and the adjoining cultural centre hosts youth study circles, calligraphy classes, and Quran memorisation for local children.

Community life follows the rhythm of daily prayer, weekly Thursday night recitation of Dua Kumayl, and the solemn mourning gatherings of Ashura. The mosque anchors Komijan's neighbourhood spirit with a gentle, steady devotion.
